Health benefits of ginger

The anti inflammatory proprieties and active principles of the ginger root are thought to provide pain relief in multiple number of ways. It has the power to stop migraines in their tracks and to ease the aches of arthritis and joint pain.

Ginger is good for asthma. Ginger powder negates the effects of Platelet-Activating Factors. This means the ginger powder stops inflammation.

In the Ayurvedic healing tradition of India, ginger is considered a digestive stimulant and also is used as a ‘body cleansing’ or detoxifying agent. Ginger is known as the herb of passion and it is mentioned in the Kama Sutra.

The heat generated in the body after taking ginger is similar to the body heat produced during sexual arousal and this warming of the body increases sexual stimulation in the brain which is reflected in a high state of sexual arousal.

In classic Chinese medicine, ginger is a ‘heat-producing’ plant; it is therefore thought to have stimulating effect on internal organs and helps adjust metabolism, as well as acting as a diuretic, and removing excess fluids form the body.

Ginger has many uses in the home remedies and can be used to help diarrhea, flu, headache, heart and menstrual problems, diabetes, stomach upset and motion sickness.

Ginger also fights ovarian cancer. It seems that ginger has the ability to eliminate the dangerous cancerous ovarian cells. Ginger also seems to slow the progress of bowel cancer.
